What a fabulous weekend! With glorious sunshine, great company, live music, Brothers English pear cider and vintage vehicles a-plenty could life get much better?
Here's a few snaps of our weekend at CamperJam. Apologies for the VW nerdiness. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
The vintage VW emergency vehicle display.
1956 VW split panel ambulance used by a Finnish mental hospital until 1980. How scary is the authentic interior?
No jackets required all weekend.
One of my favourite vans, a rare VW high top, one of only 50 left in the world. A controversial choice but I adore the rat look.
I love peeking at other campervan interiors, some folk really go to town on keeping their van true to the original year of manufacture.
How gorgeous is the paint job on this Californian Beetle?
Home is where you park it. Gilbert complete with his awning and my hand-made bunting. Sadly it'll probably be his last CamperJam, our latest restoration project should be finished in the next couple of months. Anyone fancy buying a 1980 Aircooled VW T25?
A beautiful buttercup Karmann Ghia, swoon!
My gingham frock was much admired by the VW community.
I do hope that good weekend has been had by all. It's an evening of World Cup Final action for us accompanied by pizza and the last of the rose wine after I've caught up with my favourite bloggers.
I trawled ebay and the car mags for an affordable VW van when I was doing my driving lessons but I didn't pass so the dream was crushed. I still can't drive but one day I will own one of these babies. I love them so much! x
ReplyDeleteDear Vix,
ReplyDeleteYou guys certainly had the weather for it this weekend!
Looks like you had a wonderful time.
How bizarre is that Finnish mental hospital vehicle; maybe it's just me but I'd find it pretty suspect if someone said 'Hey, come & see what I've got in my garage'...it's just too creepy.
I'd love to have a Gilbert to take me to all the wonderful places dotted around this remarkable isle that we are blessed to inhabit but it just wouldn't be very practical as I can't drive & London is also a complete arse when it comes to parking.
I’m sure he will make someone very happy indeed :)
…xXx
Awesome paint job on that Beetle. Makes my '08 Polo look tame. But even my Polo (white) turns heads. Weird.
ReplyDeleteUm yes I am very interested in buying Gilbert! what a beaut he is! Andy has been buying Volks World for months. It's our next buy. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics and what beautiful weather you had for it.
X x
Oooh, swoonarama! We didn't make it this time. Saving up my swooning for VanFest. I would kill for that Karmann. Joe has been under our T2 all day again. So no Camper Jam for us. Glad you had a great time. Hopefully we can meet up for a cider or two at one of the festies. xxx

How fantastic, it looks like so much fun! I'd so love to buy Gilbert - my next vehicle will hopefully be some kind of camper as I don't drive far day-to-day but I'll probably end up going for the DIY van-with-a-mattress option!
