What's In My Bag(s) Tag

The lovely Louise tagged me earlier this week, asking me to reveal the contents of my bag. As Thursday is car boot sale day I thought I'd give you a sneaky peak at today's boot sale bargains, too.

Today's bag is a vintage black velvet tote bag with ethnic braiding I got from a jumble sale for 20p. The brass and wood bangles are a mix of car boot sale finds and inherited from my mother.

Inside it is my 2010 Auroville diary, a mobile phone, a Florentine tooled leather purse (car boot sale), vintage over-sized sunnies (Salvation Army), a tape measure, Chloe perfume, a psychedelic tissue dispenser (car boot sale), Indian kohl pencil, Barry M lipstick, Celia Birtwell shopper and a hair band.

My car boot booty included a vintage 1970's suitcase complete with key (£1).

Two 1960's Boots prints - 50p the pair.

Two huge 1970's glass pendant lights £3

and a Frank Usher sequin top £1

What's in your bag?
Sangu
Jenni
Kitty

I'm having to harness my inner Winehouse today as I've managed to dye my forehead Ebony Black as well as my roots. Even hairdresser extraordinaire, Kel's tip about using nail polish remover hasn't managed to shift it.

  4. i love your style. it is similar to mine. unfortunately it is not wearable in my country (philippines) as it is too hot and humid here plus the fact that "regular style" is americanized/hollywoodish than indian/vintage-ish

  17. The end of your post made me smile. No matter how many times I have coloured my hair, I always manage to dye the tops of my ears.

Lovely bag and Re: the poncho - I was 80% sure I recognised the wallpaper and manenquin (sp!). I just told the Aussie I'd bought it from you and he said and I quote "that means it'll be proper vintage and not badly advertised primark". The boy knows his stuff ;)

  24. Ok, so how did I know that the contents of your wonderful bag would be so wonderfully glam? Intuition I guess! Also, don't take up smoking for a vintage cigarette case, I'm sure we can think of some other wonderful use for it, also Stratton did a line of comapcts with the same design on... I'll look out for one! x

  30. Vix, have you tried applying a thick layer of vaseline to your forehead before dyeing? It usually stops the dye from going where you don't want it to go :)
