Playing Catch Up

I had to Google Princess Jasmine after a little girl stood and stared at me for ages on Saturday,  apparently that's who she thought I was.

I bloody wish! I need some serious Wii Fit sessions before January to get my abs looking that good.

With slap-up dinners this good (from my beloved Nessa's) being delivered to the door I'm fighting a losing battle!

Since I last blogged I've turned 47, been spoilt with amazing birthday presents (including the psychedelic San Francisco-made maxi and the insane pottery cat), been overwhelmed by kind messages on Facebook/Twitter, attended two art exhibitions (this one was incredible), eaten out twice, feasted on an Indian banquet at home, been to a 50th birthday party, worked at two vintage fairs, loaded and unloaded the van seven times, relabelled and ironed a large proportion of Kinky Melon's stock, met a blogger, had a Skype chat with Krista, slagged off the X Factor via text with Curtise, caught up with my vintage family for the final time this year and taken receipt of a brilliant blog giveaway.

I've played Pass The Thong with gorgeous Ellen (organiser of Saturday's huge Wolverhampton Fair)

Who rocked it in her own inimitable way...

She passed it on to crazy vintage glass dealing bird, Jackie...

Who pimped it up Xmas style and passed it to slinky Sharon, Sunday's fair organiser.

The Suitcase Boomboxes went down a storm.

I finally gave my 91 Allison Street maxi an outing.

Grecian-style maxi (£9.99, Acorns Hospice, 2011) worn with bastard massive TopShop earrings (via the charity shop) and a pair of 1960s block heeled silver sandals (robbed off my pitch 'cos my feet were killing me)

and resurrected an old favourite for the final event of the year.

Jon went safari jacket mad...wearing his blue one on Saturday...

... and a belted linen one on Sunday. (The R Soles boots haven't been off his feet since he bought them).

Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton before the crowds descended
There's three parcels awaiting collection at the Post Office, our Blighty Bazaar shop space to set up, an appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon, an Indian tourist visa to apply for and a belated birthday night out to squeeze in before the end of the week.

There's just under two hours before Ripper Street starts so I'm off to catch up with all I've missed in Blogland and Jon's cracking on with some more Boomboxes - these two babies are all we have left.

See you soon!

  13. 47 or not you look stunningly beautiful in that white grecian gown, I'm surprised Jon didn't drag you off behind the clothes rail to ravish you. Oh, he did? Your bangin' bod looks in fine fettle to me unlike my podge - the dreaded middle-aged spread has arrived and I gotta do something about it.
Princess who...? I didn't know who she was either, is it obvious we don't have kids? Enjoy the telly!

  18. Princess Jasmine, of course - why did none of us spot the resemblance before?! Love that green beauty of a maxi, and of course the patchwork and Grecian maxis too, so beautiful. Them, and you.
You HAVE been a busy bee, Jon too. Lots of work, but tons of fun too, that's how it should be. Jon is a bloody safari jacket-wearing genius, those boom boxes are fab, not surprised they are selling so well.

  34. I made an audible "aww" at the Princess Jasmine story. That green dress is a beauty.
You had me giggling a lot over your game 'Pass the Thong'/Sisterhood of the travelling Thong, particularly at the photo of Ellen wearing it on her head.
Your stall, the fair, the boom-box suitcases, John and you all look fantastic.
    Happy belated birthday. x

  37. R Soles? Jon's boots are R Soles?? Hahaaaaaaaa!!! And for a second I thought someone had nicked your shoes worn with the Grecian heavenly gown ... I love that you can change your outfit if it gets uncomfortable, while you're working ;). I do hope you can have a proper birthday like. You've worked so hard this year and having to cope with your hip woes and looking out for your Dad. I look forward to seeing you relaxing in India ... a welcome break for you both. xoxoxoxoxoxo

  50. You are a whirlwind of activity these days! I'm glad you've had some birthday fun. I can easily see the Princess Jasmine resemblance, but it's a grownup, elegant version. You have killer abs doll, so don't go comparing yourself to a Disney princess.

Jon's a star in his safari jackets and R Soles boots - how fab that his boom-boxes have been flying off the shelf. I see a boom-box empire in his future.

  51. Happy Birthday Vix. How can I describe how much beauty and outrageous fun you have added to my life, even though we have never met other than in the virtual world. Your passion for life, your warmth and your ability to wear the most gorgeous maxis on the planet are just a few of the reasons you are an irresistible read.

  52. You look super HOT in that white low V maxi.... and Princess Jasmine? Yes. Yes I see it!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've never heard of Princess Jasmine, but I can see it instantly. How lovely to look like a princess (but thank goodness you don't act like one). You and Krista are fairy tale twins. You're a princess and she's a mermaid. Making young girls happy across two continents. What a service.

R Soles!!! HAAA! What a great name. You and Jon go from strength to strength, those boomboxes are the VERY TING MAN! Mash it op!

Your old favourite, the white grecian dress always make you look like a goddess, but that green maxi is something else too. Now you can relax, you sure do deserve it. xxxxxxxxx
