Spanish Eyes

Hola, amigos!

Seeing as the velvet flamenco dress I snaffled at the weekend got loads of love yesterday and I'd received a charming request to model it from my dear friends Kathryn, Agnes, Lucille, Esther, Helen, Dolores, Mary, Marcella, Annabelle and Prissy in St Louis, it seemed only polite to frock up and share how it looks on.

Jon loves me in it but wonders whether Walsall town centre is quite ready for me.

Spain was the first country outside of the UK that I visited and I've always had a fondness for the country, people, art and kitschy souvenirs.

My favourite Spanish lady, the beautiful Sacramento

Clockwise from top left: 1950s donkey cruet, one of my kitchen chairs I reupholstered in vintage souvenir tea towels,  a framed Spanish lady found in a friend's attic, 1950s occasional table, 1950s Flamenco print, kitchen chair close-up, Bernard Buffet Matador print, close-up of Flamenco print, 1950s Spanish gypsy prints, Ink bullfight sketch my parents received as a wedding present in 1966.

Vintage flamenco dress (20p) worn with jelly sandals (£2, car boot sale), lace tights (20p, jumble sale), Huge earrings (95p, Acorns Hospice), brass bangles and Victorian hand-painted fan (inherited), Opera gloves (20p, jumble sale), hair flower and choker (refashioned from bits found lying around)

Total cost: £3.55

I'm linking this to Style Eyes ethical bloggers challenge to create an outfit for less than £10.

How excited am I? I've only been crowned a Vintage Queen! Check out my interview HERE.

See you soon.
