Daylight Robbery

We've taken advantage of a beautiful October morning by going scrumping.

To non-Brits, scrumping is stealing apples from an orchard or a garden, a popular Autumn pastime for naughty kids.

Dad's not around to reap the benefits of this year's bumper crop so we thought we'd better step in and get to the apples in his garden before the squirrels (and the yoofs) do.

It looks like I'm going to be busy in the kitchen, our own trees are laden with ripe apples, too.

These red ones are deliciously sweet.

I think I'd better get Dad's lawn mower out, our Indian Summer's caused the grass to shoot up.

Vintage Jeff Banks W1 label blouse (Courtesy of the awesome Alex), Festival earrings and 1970s maxi (Queen Helga), Ostrich belt (20p), willow trug (50p) and straw hat (50p) all from car boot sales.

 I wonder what are the chances are of finding a cheap cider press at tomorrow's car boot sale? I could murder a pint of cider.

  3. Love your outfit as usual. I'm planning on making an apple crisp today... sadly these were not scrumped apples. I think I'll say scrump at least 10 times today. It's scrumptiously scrumpy. : }

  12. What a romantic looking day!
    Fantastic outfit, your spies do a great job.
    Apples are so versatile, but I think I'd run out of ideas with the amount you have there. Cider is the best option, without a doubt. You're bound to encounter a home-brew enthusiast tomorrow. Enjoy your evening, hope you find some treasure tomorrow.

  13. Aw Vix, you look darling in your outfit and I love the hat. Great to learn a new word (scrumping) but what's a yoof?

    You have such great luck at the car boot sales that I'm sure a cider press is on the horizon for you. When you've got your first batch bottled, can we all come over and hoist a glass to your dad?
    Hope he is doing well.

  34. Oh Vix, I adore this look! That blouse is truly wonderful! I'd love to wear this outfit! Mmmm, scrumping! Except someone scrumped ALL the apples from my tiny tree last summer, despite the fact I lived in a terraced house, high fences on either side with neighbours at the end! It must have been my neighbours at the bottom! grrr!

    Oh and that was a very sweet thing you said on my blog! I am positive most of the time until I am moaning to my colleagues about how irritating the class I have just had are (depending on class!)! Teaching has turned me into a moan :-(
