A Quiet Night In

I've already been out three nights this week so tonight it's a quiet night in front of the tv with a cheese salad, time to recharge the batteries in readiness for Saturday night.

The frock's nothing new and, along with the shawl, it's featured on my blog several times. I don't own any slobby clothes, even if I'm staying in I try to make an effort to look halfway decent.

Favourite thing on a Friday? A bottle of rose and the boxed set of Sons Of Anarchy (on loan from a lady I know at the swimming baths).

Vintage crimplene maxi dress (20p, jumble sale), crochet shawl (25p, jumble sale), Lamani coin anklet (Indian street market), Rose wine (The Co-Op)

Have a fabulous evening. Us Brits have a three day weekend and typically it hasn't stopped raining all day.

  1. Hi my dear!! Sounds like you've had such a fabulous week and checking out your previous post, its great to see you and your lovely friends out in force having a fabulous time!! The curry looks soo delicious and how great to see your past pictures when you were a blonde too! You have such a pretty face I think you suit being a blond or brunette, but dark hair does make you look very exotic looking!! Wishing you a lovely weekend and heres hoping the rain dries up for our 3 day weekend, today has been continuous!!! xxxx

  3. The weathers hideous isn't it, hasn't stopped raining here in East Yorkshire at all today and it's having a mighty throw down atm. They keep claiming on the local news it's not going to rain on Sunday or Monday - but i'm too cynical to believe them x

  6. Yep, been peeing down all day here too. Bank holiday BBQ anyone? That's what I was hoping for, but we'll have to see...
I love the colours and print on your dress - it's good to dust off Old Faithfuls (as Sarah calls them) now and again.
Enjoy your rose and your salad (we've just had a casserole and crumble for pud, the autumnal weather has influenced my menu planning!)
Have a fab weekend, love xxxxxxxx

  20. Halfway decent?! More than,I say! For sure,a girl can't let ehr standards down just because she's staying home!!! I don't own any sloppy clothes either,I just couldn't wear them if I did.I don't really understand sloppy!
I used to be a slut for rose, according to G.....I think I used to drink Mateus when he and I first got it on.It's a bit too light for me now,I do like a grunty red!
Lovely to have a quiet Friday,I do enjoy it when I have one...mind you, ours was fairly quiet,we just went out to visit friends in the country.
    Love YOU!!!!

  22. Have been away this week and just catching up on all of your posts. Love the historic photos of you - gorgeous girl! I'm blonde (dyed to enhance it) and wish I suited dark hair, would be so much easier to maintain. I'm far too lazy to keep on top of it and do anything with it. You are lucky to suit both colours.

Love that you lounge in maxi dresses and shawls, I'm sitting here in joggers and a vest, I must make more of an effort.

    Have a fab weekend!

Nicki xx (PS - a hip replacement? Blimey, that's a big thing to go through.)

  28. Ohhh so now I know why you look good all the time.
Because you don't have slobby clothes. I should really take a lesson from you and not keep any at my house either. BUT I have some.. I like them *Hahaha*
To me there is nothing like jumping into a pair of sweats and a tank and watching a movie under a fluffly blanket.

You look great and I love the dress alot. Have a good weekend Vix! =D

  29. If I looked as great as you do, I'd forgo slovenly clothes as well. Heck, I'd do without clothes all together. Hope your evening was relaxing and the wine divine.

I've never heard of Sons of Anarchy but you've mentioned it a few times now so I googled it and it looks pretty amazing PLUS it's available on itunes so I know what I'm doing tonight!

Hope the weather clears up, amor!

  44. Theres that fab shawl again that I love, looking elegant on your night in. My daugther raves about Sons of Anarchy too, but I've never seen it, am I missing something??? You'll have to let me know if its got alot of violence in tho first as I don't like violence. Hope you enjoyed your night in, and you are probably at a car boot as I type this so can't wait to see what you found.

  45. Ok so can you pls explain to the uninitiated (i.e., me) what Sons of Anarchy is? Unlike Sarah I'm too lazy to look it up but I'm sure I'm not the only reader who doesn't know about it. You make me want to chuck my fugly clothes out...but then I'd never get any painting done :)

I've enjoyed your last few posts esp. the pix of you as a blonde and that lovely photo of you and your mom. What a treasure.

Oh, here is a burning question, what is a cheese salad?
