Flower Power

I thought I'd give one of my latest jumble sale dresses an outing today.
It went down so well that I got treated to a rendition of Scott Walker's  MacKenzie's (ooops thanks, Curtise) "San Francisco (Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair)" from the queue outside the swimming baths when I stepped out of Yootha, our 1969 Beetle. Pensioners, no shame, huh?

I'm feeling so overwhelmingly floral today that I'm even wearing Boots No 7 Gay Geranium lipstick. Well, if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing.

1960's floral shift (Jumble sale 40p), Alexis boots (TopShop £20), vintage yellow rose bag (Car boot sale 20p), Hair flower (Hand made)
It's the village Free Festival this weekend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for dry weather and then maybe I can squeeze a car boot sale in, too.

Have a brilliant weekend whatever you get up to.

PS: Please check out the lovely Emma's blog today, I get a mention!

Lovely, you look demure yet funky, a hard look to pull off! Love your car.

This weekend I shall be mostly packing, visiting new baby, and trying to catch up on everyone's posts I missed while sorting out the swap!

Yootha is lovely. If we ever got rid of our van, I would love a beetle but really I would love one of each as I am greedy!
Really like your boots; very similar to a pair I nearly bought from All Saints a while ago :)

Haha, I love the thought of pensioners serenading you.

The print on that dress is to die for. 60's florals are so good. I never seem to find any - it's all 80's cabbage roses faded type prints that look really dated. Your dress looks really fresh and modern.

Rebecca said...

oh you look wonderful, those boots are just perfect with that dress! oh and your car is beauuuutiful! x

Rather demure today, and terribly pretty!
Nothing like a bit of a public singsong, I love embarrassing the kids by singing in the street (and fab song, tho the Scott in question is Mackenzie not Walker - I know, pop nerd, I'm sorry!)

The dress is yet another stunner, and you are rocking those boots!
Have a good weekend!

Love that dress - you look great. I am always jealous of people who have fab legs and can bare all! I'm blessed with "hockey players' calves" - although the rest of me's a slim 10/12 - and am stuck with opaques or leggings under dresses all year round. That said, in Scotland that's no great loss!

Rose&Bird said...

Gorgeous, I love a floral print! You could have stepped right from '69!

I love your collection of vehicles almost as much as your collection of frocks. I'm hoping to get to a boot sale this weekend too... lets keep our fingers crosses for sunny weather, or at least dry weather would do. xx

Dearest Vix, you look bloody gorgeous. Everything looks fabulous on you.

How fab is Yootha? I assume she's named after Yootha Joyce. I love George and Mildred.

Have a great Saturday. I have Fee, George and Betty here and I'm off to help finish off the shop.

Love you xx

You look so groovy standing in front of your amazing beetle! Such style :) Pensioners really do get away with everything; there's an old man in one of the orchestras I play with and he serenades me and makes me blush! He must be reaching 90 soon....! Lots of love xoxox
