Day Meets Night

Yesterday's charity shop buys were far too good to be kept for their original purpose. There's no way this pretty 1960's St Michael Bri-nylon nightie in blueberry and violet tones should be hidden away from the world and worn to bed, I'm re-purposing it into day wear.

After a day's charity shopping I couldn't get these Dolcis shoes on my feet but this morning they slipped on perfectly. Now they're on they're staying put. It's a crime to keep them for evening wear, a bit of daytime lurex never hurt anyone.

A pair of vintage shoes in a 7B, a perfect fit for my long, skinny feet.

I bought this 1930's parasol from a car boot sale last spring for £2 and spent the whole of the Glastonbury Festival regretting not bringing it with us. What's the betting I'll remember it this year and it'll rain for the whole week?

Charity shopped 1960's nightie (£1.95) and vintage shoes (£2) worn with turquoise tights, Lord Python of Sheffield 1970's pendant (Car boot sale 50p), stacks of second-hand bangles and a peach and tangerine hair flower (hand made by me)

It's been glorious here for two days, I didn't even need a coat at the car boot sale this morning. I feel a pint of cider coming on.

So cute! Will you invoke the wrath of the weather-gods by taking your parasol to Glasto? Maybe!

I haven't got a coat with me today either - it's a deliciously exciting feeling for March! Small things eh?

I absolutely love that dress. It'd be a crime to keep it for the bedroom - everyone deserves to see its beauty!

I'm adoring this weather. Let's hope that it continues, especially for this weekend as we are away!

Loving the dress, far to good to be confined to bed only.

I love your nightie/frock ~ it looks more frock than nightie I think. That parasol is sweet, but next time at Glasto you should probably leave it behind again and you will be sure to get nice weather, under the 'Sod's Law' rule.

It's weird how at the merest hint of sun, we all want cider. Had my first glass of the year yesterday afternoon!

Love the look - and yes, far too nice to be kept relegated to the nightwear drawer!

I couldn't agree more - one should always bust out some lurex for the day time. Why hide it away? You'd never know that dress was a former nightie either. Good re-purposing!

I haven't worn a coat or jacket for the last 2 days, the weather has been glorious! I just bought a few vintage patterned slips off ebay, none have as good a pattern as this one though. xxx

The umbrella is gorgeous and you are right, the slip and shoes need to be seen. I am a size 7 in shoes too, if we ever manage to visit (and I hope we do) I am going to try on all your shoes. I think you should message that etsy seller about the jumpsuit, most of them will do international shipping if you ask and I see they do postage to Australia xx

Those Dolcis shoes are divine. My friend Vic used to work there as a Saturday girl - used her staff discount to buy the first shoes I ever fell in love with when I was 14. Pastel pink T-bars, can still remember the joy of wearing them! Enjoy your cider. It's been glorious in Glasgow today so I'm off to pour a glass of rose! xx
