Hormonal Horrors

I'm utterly useless at the moment and blame PMT. My normally brilliant memory failed to remember the one essential item I meant to pick up in town earlier and I had to walk the two mile round trip back once I'd got home.

My hair's gone all flat, my lipstick's too dark, my blusher keeps sinking into my skin and my eyeliner won't stay put. I caught sight of myself in a shop window earlier and thought how vile and drab I looked and so this is the second outfit of the day.

Fortunately there's one thing to bring cheer to my day, a jumble sale at the church hall at 6pm this evening. Our 1970 Type 4 Volkswagen Variant Ebby is all fired up and topped up with bin bags just in case we get lucky.

I'm wearing a couple of recent jumble sale finds and hoping the vintage fairies will be kind to me.

Vintage Dollyrockers mini dress (eBay), 1960's St Michael nylon pussybow blouse and Miss Holmes suede shoes (Jumble sale), 1980's white floral Chelsea Girl tights (Courtesy of the wonderful Alex)

Wish me luck! I promise to share any interesting finds.

I see nothing wrong with your look or makeup, though! That dress and blouse make a wonderful pair and you totally rocked the white tights!

  15. Vix I think this has defo got to be one of my fav outfits you have blogged. Its so cute! Wish I could get away with the white tights but in the town I live in I`d be a source of amusement. I once dared to wear fushia pink shoes and black tights and you should have seen the looks and I just don`t have the confidence to deal with it! Have fun at the jumble sale. Dx

  18. I think you're looking great as always Vix, but I do know what you mean about hormones messing with...well everything. I swear my eyes change shape or something when I'm hormonal, my eyeiner just never looks how it should and I seem to be permanently clammy. Very unattractive x

  22. If this is a bad day you are looking pretty damn good Vix!
I had that day on Tuesday. Literally wanted to cry and go home and get in my duvet.

I love the 80's cut out back top, it's far better than anything (overthe)topshop had to offer. :)

  23. I am having the exact same kind of day. Except, I gotta tell you, you look lovely. It's all in our heads (it always is). But that doesn't really help, does it?

At least when you look back at the photos you can think: What was I thinking? I look FINE." At least I do that.

As for eyeliner, yes, it does that. I now dot liquid liner between my bottom lashes (real small dots where there are less lashes) and then I put on black mascara on my bottom lashes. It is the look of eyeliner without the falling down of eyeliner... you should try it!
